A photo has appeared of JetGo's latest acquisition and Embraer ERJ-140LR now registered VH-ZJG prepared for delivery from the USA to Australia reportedly by the end of the week.

I was lucky enough to be sent some of these pics and have posted on the CQ Plane Spotting Blog - LINK - http://cqplanespotting.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/first-photos-of-jetgo-australias-new.html

I'm also told that RPT Sydney to Roma flights are starting soon, with a route proving flight possibly this week.

Cheers
Damian

Niiiiice! Something VERY different for we Aussies! Previously only American Eagle has operated ERJ140s. Thanks for sharing, Damian!

Talking to the Roma ground staff the other day, they said that several of the first flights had little (under 9) to no passengers booked.

I wouldn't be surprised considering most locals would do their business/major Hospital in Brissie.

Other than business trips I can't see the demand.

I lived CQ for a while and never heard anyone saying that they had to go to Sydney. It was always Brissie.

I'd say most of the FIFO workers are ex BNE, or other QLD ports. Frequent Flyer status/points/lounges are a big deal for a lot of these guys and girls, especially when their commute takes them far and wide.

Hopefully there is a niche market there for them, but they didn't have a huge lead time from opening sales to the first flight. Quite a few people would have already made travel plans by then.

Jetgo drops Sydney-Roma flights
Regional carrier Jetgo has cited low demand and economic conditions for shelving planned Sydney-Roma flights less than two weeks from launch. The airline was due to start operating between Sydney and Roma with 36-seat Embraer ERJ 135 aircraft from December 1.However, a post on Jetgo’s Facebook page on Thursday said those flights have been cancelled, with all passengers given a full refund.
