Jetgo has been awarded a RPT AOC and is flying a promo tour to Roma and Gladstone this coming Friday (announcements expected).

Jetgo's promotional tour today has confirmed Sydney-Gladstone services will commence from 1 December, subject to regulatory approvals. Morning and afternoon services Monday to Friday (nothing on weekends), operating either side of the Sydney-Roma rotation.

Interesting. QF couldn't seem to make SYD-GLA work, so good luck to JetGo on that route.

The issue will be "bums on seats".
You would think that most pax will be business orientated considering GLA is not really a jumping off point for the reef. GLA only services Heron Is.
I would expect that most locals would be heading to Brissie rather than SYD.
I wish them luck, but I can't see the PAX volume.

I guess it's pretty much the same capacity as QF were offering but split over double the flights... maybe they figure the additional frequency will be the clincher for them?

Jetgo has announced on facebook the SYD-GLT service is suspended from 9 February (next Monday). Likewise, the BNE-TMW service which was originally planned for a 19 January start before being deferred to 2 February still has not flown according to flightaware and flightradar24.

I don't get why a charter company would want to take the enormous gamble of RPT against networked competitors.

If no-one gambled then we'd never have new players enter the market. They tried, they appear to have failed, but good on them for giving it a go.

Though RPT has been rather soft, even for the major players. I've noticed that the 6:30AM flight from WGA to SYD has been reduced or dropped.

Looks like JetGo's expansion of the BNE-TMW route to 2 x daily isn't happening.
They have added a Sunday service though.

I read this article (http://australianaviation.com.au/2015/03/jetgo-begins-brisbane-tamworth-service/) the other day and it's got me confused... in one para it mentions double daily starting April 6 when additional counters come available at BNE, then in the next says Sundays start April 12 and Tuesday/Thursday could be brought forward from September.

Hey Max! Good news and about time they've announced it :) Are there any other details publicly available (schedule or anything)? I've searched and can't find anything. If I had to guess I'd say days 1, 3 & 5 between the TMW rotations as a starting point, and maybe one rotation on the weekend too...
