Anyone know what happened to VH-VXI on QF862 (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/VHVXI/history/20141202/0045Z/YSSY/YBCG) this afternoon? Made it to what looks like the Upper Hunter, turned back to SYD and according to my boss (who's on the flight) another aircraft will take over. Happily, she informs me she now has wine!

Almost Dark at 6PM, lots of lightening, heavy rain, and poor EK9822 doing heaps or orbits off the Northern Beaches (cant figure out how to get a copy of the FR24 screen) after having got to about Chatswood on Final before giving up. He has QF446 for company - who did a few orbits back around Yass as well.

These afternoon and evening storms are becoming a habit.

If you use Windows 7 (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows7/products/features/snipping-tool), you can use the "Snipping Tool" or with Mac OS X (http://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201361) use CMD + Shift + 3 or 4.

RXA674 has returned to Wagga, QLK230D is still doing circuits. Could be rather interesting with little space available at Wagga due to Bay 4 being out of service again. While VOZ179A has been in the air for just over 2 hours! But looks like more storms forming to the west of Sydney.

The site " theqantassource.com" is reporting that the aircraft VH-OQD returned to SYD due to a lack of serviceable toilets ....

Nothing big, just a few issues with IFE and toilets -

Not good to have three flights, in a single day, having with issues (minor or otherwise). No doubt the Qantas fleet must be stretched after a weeks worth of cancelled and diverted flights due to weather.

Apparently there was pavement failure on 16L this morning with single runway ops temporarily.

I guess the weather in Sydney of the past week hasn't helped. Seems when we get hot weather, bay 4 (for the DHC8) becomes unserviceable and have to use bay 3 (spare space for SAAB 340/DHC8).

Looks like it's been a long day for those folks on UA863 that went to Canberra!
