Looking forward to my first A380 flight on Qantas tomorrow 2/1/15 (QF11)
Just found out changed to B744. Anybody know of reasons. You spend (or is it waste ) cash buying your seat selection for this to happen. Oh well. As long as I get there

Looks like VH-OQF has been out for a few days so that has probably thrown the A380 schedule. Unfortunately the QF11 is always the first to be affected and replaced with a 744.

Does anyone know what is wrong with VH-OQF?

Hit a catering truck on 1 January 2014 according to a tweet from Michael Pascoe

I think you'll find that 107 on that day was due to be operated by a 747, OJS hasn't flown since about then!

Good thing they kept OJA...

It would be more correct to say a catering truck hit it!

Was there much damage done Fred?

No. A dent on a pressurised fuselage is all it takes sometimes to require a repair. That said there are plenty of dents on aircraft that are assessed as acceptable. A lot depends on the depth and location on the fuselage.

I thought VH-OJS was hit by a catering truck or was OQF and OJS both hit?

OJS was hit by a catering truck. OQF is under maintenance in SYD.
