Has the Saudi 777 got anything to do with Wourld Youth Day?

I saw a group of about 50 muslim tourists at Circular Quay today (ie femals all in their religious dress). Perhaps it is just a hiliday charter ?

Happenstance ended up taking me past the GA area not long after the aircraft arrived. There were at least a dozen big black 4wheel drive limo looking vehicles lined up in 3 rows at the foot of the front airstairs. Someone was at the door of the plane and on the stairs taking photos, but couldn't see anything in regard to pax on board, apart from a bit of a shuttle of guys dressed casually bringing black bags down the stairs and putting them into the cars. Went on over to Shep's Mound to watch the A380 take off. A guy there thought that the Saudi plane was some prince come over to buy an ipod :)

Very nice pic Blake. The livery looks really nice on the 777.

As of 5pm this afternoon, it was no longer in the GA area so unless it is at a gate or at the JetBase, it might be gone already :(

Are you sure because i was just about to start work at 5pm today and 34L was in use and didnt see/hear(scanner) it. I sure would have loved to see it!

Knowing where Darryl works, I wouldn't be doubting the authenticity of the post.

Thing was Nigel i was sitting right near Gate 13 at T3 from 4-5pm and 34L was in use

Then I say it would have most likely taxied across 34L at Bravo-2 then down Alpha to the Alpha-6 holding point, which is a common move for the Perth-bound B743's.
