Subject to Government Approval, Air New Zealand is making its debut in South America, with the launch of 3 weekly Auckland – Buenos Aires Ezeiza service. First flight is scheduled on 01DEC15, with Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.
NZ030 AKL1920 – 1500EZE 777 257
NZ031 EZE2359 – 0530+2AKL 777 257

What's the benefit of having the STD of 2359 instead of 0000 or 2350? Just found the non-rounding of the departure time strange.

0000 is never used in scheduling, always 2359 (usually) or 0001 (occasionally). I think it has to do with 0000 being considered the line between two days, whereas 2359 & 0001 are on one side of the line or the other, in the sense that scheduling can't 'sit on the fence' so to speak.
The benefit is that 2350, 2355 & 0005 are probably all considered separate slot times, whereas 2359 is used as the slot time for 'midnight'.

And for passengers, the displayed day of week is shown as the day they have to go to the airport, rather than possible confusion of fronting up a day late for departure.
