All passengers on all domestic VA flights will now receive complimentary food tailored to time of day. Having flown VA to DRW and watched half the plane get fed and the other half not, and the clunky way in which this was done, it's about time. The on-board menu will stay, however, to give pax the option to purchase additional items.

No baggage fees either... which won't affect me personally for the most part, but will be heaven for many people!

No official press release posted as yet but two articles from reliable sources.

I'm pretty happy about that.

Am flying NTL-BNE-MEL in a couple weeks. I guess I can expect two dinners now.

Cheers

I seriously doubt you'll get "dinner". Snacks like a half-sandwich or cheese & crackers would be more like it. Whilst this is a good move by Virgin, they still have a long way to go before their domestic food offerings are on par with Qantas.

So it seems.

I'll be sure to let you know in a couple weeks.

Ryan, I've been on a LOT of Qantas flights where the 'domestic food offerings' were far less palatable than even cheese and crackers!!
