Well looks like the good times are over (with visiting jets getting painted), with REX taking over the hangar for painting its SAAB 340 fleet and will employ the current Douglas Aerospace employees.

Maybe the staff at Douglas wont be too keen to "transfer" over to REX employment when they find out what they are going to get paid!!.... I believe the staff at Aviex in QLD just laughed and walked out when they were told !!

Is this the hangar where the F100s have recently been painted? What's the hangar capable of housing?

Yes it is, the hangar was built for B737 and A321 (http://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/story/1657795/business-takes-off-more-in-the-wings/) sized aircraft.

Going by what the Mayor said today, Douglas was given a three month license to operate in the hangar (which was extended during the negotiations with REX). That license has since expired and Douglas will be told to vacate the hangar. He also stated that as of this morning that there has been "several" companies interested in the hangar, whether it be for paint or maintenance.
