Grahame it would appear VRE is not in your database, left before me off 34R around 1830. Also I hate spelling fanatics (spelling not being a strongpoint of mine) but your might want to check the spelling of corporate in the ADSB logs section

Thanks Mark, VH-VRE is in our database as a Corporate, however none of our three Ground Stations have picked it up today (last pickup was yesterday). It is quite odd not to pickup an aircraft departing Sydney, so I will keep an eye on VH-VRE next time she is back in town.

The spelling of Corporate on the ADS-B Logs page has now been corrected.

0dd, I actually had a quick look at her climbing out on your site, looking at the pic I took of her lined up it was 1818 for the ATD.

Interesting Mark, I just checked FlightAware and their flights for VH-VRE agree with our ADS-B Logs records ie. out
to Darwin on Saturday 7th at 08:34 and back into Sydney on Sunday 8th at 21:28 - nothing on Monday 9th (I photographed
it on DOM5), and scheduled to go down to Essendon today at 19:00. Our only other thought was that another aircraft used
VRE as its Callsign, which is displayed on the first line of the aircraft ID information on the map. When I checked the
database, I could only find one non VH-VRE flight with VRE in its Callsign, and that was a Virgin Australia B738 VH-VUY
back on 30th July.

That is odd, rego was correct as I was behind her and took a photo, and she does show up on Webtrak at 6.19 heading to Canberra.

Hi Mark,

I think I have solved the mystery after checking the departing aircraft on WebTrak around 18:19 yesterday. A Challenger did depart after VOZ973, however,
when I listened to the Sydney Tower ATC Archive, the "Line Up" and "Clear For Takeoff" instructions were for another Challenger VH-VSZ. On FlightAware,
VH-VSZ did a return trip to Canberra at this time. Maybe just check your photograph, the livery is very similar, however VH-VRE has the registration on the
engines, and VH-VZS on the tail.

When I saw the news tonight I realised that Aussie 362 was probably Charles and Camilla. Interesting that it was only at FL260 as it approached the coast off Sydney, I initially thought it was descending into Sydney, and then thought Canberra.

Aussie 362 appears to have flown at FL260 all the way from Whenuapai to RAAF Edinburgh? The flight to Sydney tonight left from Adelaide Int so the BBJ must have positioned there from RAAF Edinburgh. It seems that all internal flights in NZ were all conducted with a RNZAF B757. I wondered if the pavement at Nelson could take that load. By contrast when William and Kate came to Sydney from Wellington, one RAAF BBJ was held orbiting over Ohakea with a missed approach at Wellington and a couple at Ohakea, until the first BBJ departed Wellington.

Flying at lower-levels but at a higher speed is common on VVIP jets; where time is more valuable that fuel. (Well maybe not if your a taxpayer but anyway!) You can generally fly at a much faster true airspeed at a lower level. The price you pay is significantly higher fuel burn. It would have saved around 25mins flying at FL260 today.

The second BBJ was ferrying the Governor General around today between Sydney and RAAF Edinburgh to meet the Royals.

There are new callsigns now. They vary and aren't specific to who's onboard. Consort, Wisdom, Regent are now most common for VIPs. Regal for Royal's mostly and Envoy for training sorties. Aussie for overseas ops.

Prince Charles and Lady Camilla departed for Canberra from DOM6 Bay 99 this morning, part of the Remembrance Day Service at the War
Memorial. There was quite a Police presence, including the Public Order & Riot Squad, General Duties Police, the AFP, sniffer dogs
etc. and all manholes and electrical pits were opened and checked.

They are not new callsigns, just indicative of squadron changes. All have been the domain of 33 or 34 squadron, with Windsor and Regal moving across when 34 moved to Amberley.
