Yesssssssssssssss yessssss.

That's the best news I ever heard in aviation - goodbye A380 even if it is years away.

Great move in all aspects QF.

I would hardly call it news, more like CEO musings, lots of things can happen between now and then as we have seen even after orders are placed ;)

“We’re looking at the new 777-8X that would potentially have the range to do it, but that doesn’t come until (the early) 2020s.”

It's not even news, this has been announced quite a while ago.

Airlines look at lots of things all the time...

Look at how long they looked at the B777. QANTAS were even one of many airlines who had input into the specs of it!

That's not an order. As Max said, all they've said is that they are looking. They looked at the original 777 as well.

What's wrong with the 380? From a pax point of view, give me one of those any day over anything else except maybe the 350.

Agree, what´s wrong with the A380? Everything on this planet isn´t Boeing.

Only the airlines really know the numbers but you have to wonder why quite a few are now having second thoughts about taking their remaining orders. I think the world has changed and hub busters don't make sense regardless of who makes them. Much like the demise of the regional turboprop and regional jets. The world has changed.

No, but should be.
