VH-ONE has spent quite a bit of time in Sydney over the past few months doing scenic charters for one of the YSSY heliport operators. I presume it's coming back again to help with the summer season mayhem.

Shot from when it was operating in Sydney back in mid September this year - and it was departing when I passed by the helipad today

Seems KNU has been doing some Medic work. Departed WGA this afternoon (just before 2pm) for Darwin via Mount Isa.

KNR arrived from Sydney.

Noticed on Flightradar then confirmed the flight on flightaware that Emirates cargo 777 A6-EFD is currently flying a 16+ hour from Sydney to Chicago, which departed 1:22pm. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAE9245/history/20151218/0200Z/YSSY/KORD

Does anyone know if this is a re-positioning flight or a new sector they are adding?

Not a regular scheduled flight as far as i'm aware... There was another flight to Chicago 28th December 2014. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAE9245/history/20141228/0200Z/YSSY/www.emirates.com Fairly certain it was a charter transporting horses.

There was a 17.5 hour Sydney - New York flight in 2010 also transporting horses... http://www.theemiratesgroup.com/english/news-events/news-releases/news-details.aspx?article=626002

It will be interesting to see how Big Linda goes, she carries a Bambi bucket with 7500l capacity, whereas the sky cranes have a 9500l capacity, however she can go 50% quicker the the sky cranes maxing out at 190kts.

No call outs today, did do a day at Tumut on Friday (assisting the ACTRFS).

will slot back into the schedule.

Jetstar Dreamliner VH-VKJ arrived shortly before the inaugural American Airliners B777-300ER last Saturday, and I noticed a good example of the Dreamliner
wing unloading on touchdown. The two images have been overlaid and adjusted for a change in the camera zoom level. Notice the relatively straight wing on
the ground, compared to the considerable flex upwards in the air. The wing is supporting a Max Landing Weight of 172,000 kg (scroll right to see the same
aircraft about to touchdown).

That new fence is really another nail in the coffin for aircraft photography at Sydney. Only way to get above it would be a scissor lift but I'm sure AP security and AFP wouldn't be too impressed!
