I thought those of you with an IPhone might find this interesting.

MS

Link directly to the tracker from your website; Users can now put a link directly to their aircraft, or any specific aircraft, right on their own websites! For example, to track fboweb.com's Roaming Piper Arrow, you can link directly to http://fboweb.com/track/n111fb. No login is required! Track any flight just by replacing the "n111fb" tail number with any other tail number or aircraft ID. The link provides direct access to zoomable maps, aircraft photos, notes, ATC audio feeds (for active/live flights), and all of the other features that have made fboweb.com the most advanced web-based flight tracker available!

"Technology Preview" of the iPhone version of the site; Everyone has been rather anxious for an iPhone-specific version of the site to be able to take advantage of this amazingly popular and useful device. Although it's not quite ready for "prime time", we've gone ahead and opened up access to some of the features of the iPhone site that's currently under development. If you'd like to give it a shot, point your iPhone to the iPhone version of fboweb.com at http://fboweb.com/iphone and let us know what you think of it so far! We're likely to make major changes to what we have so far, but the concept is there; users can quickly enter an airport ID or tail number and get speedy access to Digital ATIS, the airport summary for the field, and soon METARs and TAFs and other features... or you can enter in a tail number and track it, or pull up the N-Number registration information on the aircraft, and more. Before too long we plan to have the flight planning, logbook, and other features online as well. Aside from the quick-links on the main page, users can click to a full "iPhone-like" menu to navigate to other, less-frequently used features of the site.

Google Earth tracking now directly integrated into QuickTrack; Years ago, fboweb.com became the first pioneering flight tracker to integrate with Google Earth, allowing users to track flights in 3D using Google's cool digital globe browser application. Now we've managed to integrate this tracking directly into the web page, without the need for using the full-blown Google Earth application - the 3D view is embedded right in the tracking window. In QuickTrack, once your flight comes up, you can select the "View Mode" in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Selecting Google Earth displays the current flight in 3D. One caveat tho, the feature only works with Microsoft's Internet Explorer. fboweb.com recommends that all users use Microsoft's IE to take full advantage of the site's features!

Enhancements to the "Notes" feature; We've continued to integrate the Notes feature throughout more of the website. The "notes" feature allows users to keep notes on specific aircraft - a great tool for FBOs and enthusiasts, as it helps keep a running informational log with regard to the goings-on of any particular flight/aircraft.

Graphics cut back to speed up the website; Much of the graphics have been removed from the banner of the website, resulting in a much faster, speedier experience. Hopefully we didn't sacrifice too much of the look of the site in exchange for performance, but it's definitely nicer to be able to more quickly zip from feature to feature :)

A lot more in the pipeline; We've been working like crazy lately, and there are a number of great improvements and new features still in the pipeline We'd like to thank everyone for the great feedback and the terrific compliments we've gotten from you all, and we plan to continue to innovate and improve the site, as usual! Please continue to send us your feedback and your requests! Since fboweb.com is a constant work in progress, we're always adding and changing things - and if there's something on the site that you don't like, or think could be done better, let us know via our Customer Support page! We love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
