Today's QF11 service from Sydney to Los Angeles aborted its takeoff on Runway 34L, forcing Virgin Australia B737 VH-VUJ to Go Around - VUJ was operating VOZ837 from Melbourne to Sydney (I was watching the Go Around from my balcony)
QF11 VH-OQF vacated Runway 34L at Lima, then taxied via Alpha, Juliet, and Yankee, to International 5 and Gate 57. VH-VUJ performed a tight left circuit to make a second and successful approach to Runway 34L.
Update: When the LiveATC archive became available it did not reveal any further information other than QF11 call READY, the the next transmission was about how much longer they needed, and whether they could loop back around for another attempt via Lima, or to go back to the Terminal. Their request to hold on Lima was denied. QF11 said they work working through the problem and were hopeful of a solution. Appears to be a problem just before takeoff, rather than an aborted takeoff.
