on the arrival of the aircraft will there be a water fountain from the fire trucks?

If it was a new route, then perhaps, but I think unlikely for just a change in aircraft.

I checked the booking engine at Qatar, and yes, it does arrive on Friday at 1735L

Arrival time is slated for 1915L for the A380 on Friday Grahame. 1735L is the final B777-300ER time for Thursday evening.

at the mound, is it light enough to take photos at 7:00 pm?

Last light is at 1812 Reece, but the moon is a 99% full waxing gibbous that rises at 1711.
If your camera has excellent low light capability, the near full moon might give off a bit of light, but you'd probably be best viewing it from the top of Rydges Hotel (if they're open for spotting then?).

Ok, thanks :)

A good alternative to Rydges is Int'l Staff Carpark Lvl 7 or 8 next door.
Rydges would be a better vantage point though, given it is about 2 levels higher and a better angle for the gate Qatar usually occupies.
Either park car on eastern side of airport and get train/bus (and pay for it) across to Int'l side, or park near Rowers Club at Wolli Creek and only about 10 minute walk, weather permitting.

Qatar Airways have upgauged their Doha-Sydney service from a Boeing B77W to and Airbus A380, with the inaugural A380 service arriving around 7pm last night. A7-APE touchdown on Runway 16R,
then vacated onto Taxiway Alpha for the International 2 Apron and Gate 10. As always, the Qatar Airways aircraft are maintained in immaculate condition, and she looked beautiful in closeup approaching
the Gate.
