I had looked at FlightRadar24 to find there are two Delta aircrafts flying to Los Angles now, as the first one is N705DN on DAL9858 and second one is N701N on DAL40. Both of them are B777-232 (LR) aircrafts. How come does two of them are flying out of Sydney? It would be much appreciated.

Hi Barry, The Kallita B747-200 that arrived on Monday apparently had an replacement engine on board, so maybe it was for the Delta aircraft.

Appears N705DN was unable to depart on LAX-SYD on 8 March LAX time and operated the service 24hrs late as DL9856. Return to LAX is presumably the same thing, 10th March service running 24hrs behind. No idea what happened in SYD to cause a further 24hr delay...
N701DN, on the other hand, is today's scheduled service :)
PS I believe the engine Kalitta delivered was for UA, not DL. Pretty sure I saw that somewhere, and also Kalitta arrived ex SFO.
