I had originally planned to go there by train, but I saw that there will be railway works and associated disruption of the schedule. Apparently, you have to take three different trains to get there, which will probably mean crowded trains and a lot of delays. So perhaps this year going by car is a better option, especially if you want to arrive early. Is anyone planning to go there on Sunday from the eastern suburbs? If so, could you give me a ride? I will pay for your petrol and the parking costs! Please leave me a private message if you are interested.
Best wishes,
Jonathan

Forecast is not looking great at this stage, i'm sure the organisers will have everything crossed it will improve. After 2 consecutive weather affected years, surely it couldn't be 3... :(

Thanks for the heads up Dave, might see if I can sneak out and have a look, especially considering tomorrow could be the best of the weather sadly.
Apparently the Hornet will be a fly-in fly-out display without landing both days.

Thanks Grahame ; thanks Jonathan.
Do you have a list of the Roulettes please as I think there may have been at least one new aircraft amongst them - ie A23-006 was last noted with 2 FTS in 2015.

Bob,
006, 027,053 from the photos above.
The RAAF will rotate aircraft through the Roulettes depending of flight hours and maintenance needs.
I wrote this doco on ADF Aerobatic Teams some years ago for ADF Serials.

Nice shots Nigel and thanks also for sharing.
Got those serials Greg from the photos and thanks for the others Jonathan. That's an interesting article Greg as I remember some of those earlier aerobatic teams very well.
BTW, I was the author for the PC9, BAe Hawk, Blackhawk and Seahawk pages on ADF Serials for several years until I resigned in about 2008 or 2009. Unfortunately, I copped severe criticism over a few matters so I thought, I'll let the "know it alls" take over. They didn't of course so the pages have only been occasionally updated and I have another 7 or 8 years of data that won't be added.
Thanks once again guys.

Wowsers, how close were you to that F-18 Nigel?!
I went on Sunday. The military aircraft and warbirds were great. The highlights for me were seeing Connie flying, then going on board, and then seeing VH-OJA for the first time. It was awesome being able to walk in, around and under it!!
Had a great time. Thanks for posting the photos guys!

The first shot was from the high speed pass and climb out that started the demonstration on Sunday. He was certainly moving! I'm guessing he was at around 750-1000'?

Did anybody actually *fly* in to WoI on the Sunday morning?
I had intended to, but was put off by the forecast of moderate to severe turbulence, thunderstorms 5nm off Wollongong, and strengthening winds.
I'm just curious to know what conditions were *actually* like for anyone who gave it a go.

Timing is everything
Roulettes Grounded
Like all Air Force aircraft, the PC-9/A is subject to regular maintenance and engineering reviews. These engineering reviews have located cracks in the nose-landing–gear folding strut. Consequently, Air Force is assessing the implications of these cracks, so as to ensure the aircraft meet Air Force’s strict safety standards. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, each PC-9/A will undergo an additional engineering review, and remediation repairs, before returning to normal flying activities.
