United Airlines Boeing B789 Dreamliner N27958 was operating UAL840 to Los Angeles today, when it suffered a bird strike on takeoff. The aircraft
dumped fuel off the coast, before returning to make an emergency landing at Sydney Airport.

Later in the afternoon, N27958 was still having both engines inspected on Standoff Bay B76. The aircraft is a regular visitor to Sydney, and is only
eight months old.
