Some incredible shots coming out of Brisbane from the mini-tornado that went through this afternoon.
Many aircraft damaged - trees down at the spotting loop.
This video shows the stairs crashing into a QF737

Yes myself and many others were standing under this tree at midday getting out of the intense heat.
I believe there are reports of a GAM AIR Do 228 having blown some distance and lying on it's wing.
No doubt there will be more reports coming in overnight and in the am.
Hopefully there were no injuries.
Winds were around 158 km/hr or 85 knots.

YQU the 717 in the image above will not be flying anywhere for quite some time.
On a side note....where on earth did the water tank come from?

Does anyone know the rego's of the 3 X QF 738'S which were damaged especially the one in which the stairs crashed into the engine cowling?

The other B738 could be VYL which flew into Bris on the 12/11 and hasn't flown since.

She wasn't on the ground for the storm, having diverted to OOL. Arrived at 6 after the storm had gone.

VYH & VYL are back in service.
Mark, VYL ferried into Bris on 12/11 (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/VHVYL) the night before the big storm which occurred on the 13/11.
VZW is still in Brisbane (maybe the one with the damaged engine pod)
Did anyone identify the Jetstar a/c involved ?

Have seen photos (on facebook, see 'Airline Hub Buzz') which confirm VZW is not the B737 with the damaged engine cowling - the same damage can be seen in a close up of the engine and in a more zoomed-out shot which shows the aircraft still wears the old old livery, so must be either VYH or VYL based on the info we know.

thks Rowan,
B712 YQU is still grounded in Brissie as well as JQ A320.
The A320 seems to be VFP

VFP is back in service (17/11)
But YQU is still grounded.
Pictures from the site below, tells why, ie: Punctured fuselage from flying air-stairs

YQU still hasn't flown since 13/11/16.
It's ownership reverted to QF on 08/02/17.
Any news on its fate ?

I believe YQU is still in the hanger at BNE. I heard a whisper about April
Rowan McKeever

Yeah, I heard in late-December that mid- to late-March was on the cards, so April doesn't surprise. That said, and for what it's worth, the QF13xx flights on BNE-CBR-BNE aren't loaded in the schedules beyond 5 March.

Thanks Guys,
As an aside Volotea looks like they have sold their B717 fleet to Hawaiian.
So there looks like there not many spare air frames around

YQU is still parked outside at BNE. I don't think it's spent much time in the hangar.
