QLink Tyre Blowout

On channel7 news tonight it was reported the Sydney runway was blocked for a while today by a Qlink DHC8 that blew several tyres on landing and had to be towed into the terminal.


Is this a rare event ie: Multiple blowouts ?

Probably is unusual to blow more than one tyre at the same time , however , the classic comment from ch7 was the revelation that the tyres would need changing before the plane could fly again .... I never would have guessed ! ..

was down there but had no idea what had happened till saw a traffic jam beginning to happen for 34L takeoff. only then realised only 1 runway was operating. finally saw the qlink being towed back

Adding to the chaos when we went to the hanger to unload the aircraft we were sent to the wrong hanger. Once we found out the correct hangar the tug broke down on the way. Apologies to any pax that were on that flight that maybe on this forum.
