Hi everyone.

I'd like to know if all of the Qantas 747 fleet has been refurbished in the A380 style economy interior with new seats and larger screens? I've got a trip to the USA later in the year and will be on the 747 between LAX-JFK-LAX. Are most of these flights used with the upgraded interior and indeed newer 747-400ER aircraft?

Thanks.

QF's website indicates yes on the refurbishment http://www.qantas.com/travel/airlines/B747-refresh/global/en

An aim with QF11-12 would be for some consistency of product when changing planes at LAX, but this need not necessarily mean all ERs for LAX-JFK-LAX

Not all aircraft got the refurb, OEB and OJM for instance have the old seats, Rockwell Collins 9" AV and a F cabin, luckily only US trips seem to be SFO.

If booked on a business class fare when OEB or OJM are operating on that particular flight, can any business class paying passenger be seated in the first cabin, or only higher status frequent flyers may sit in the first cabin?

From memory it's blocked for premium pax then open close to the flight if anything left.

No worries, as a general rule it's always worth checking the seat map at T-80 hours when the blocks drop, unless your a chairmans lounge member ;)
