The aircraft flew in Oz/PNG as VH-FNS from 28/01/1967 to 30/07/1977 after which it was sold to Air Niugini as P2-ANS

The 4 crew on board survived the accident.

Thanks for posting - I had no real idea that these were still flying. The F50s seem old enough.
My first commercial flight was an Ansett (probably Airlines of NSW) F27 flight SYD-WGA-SYD. So long ago that my sister and I were invited into th cockpit during descent into SYD :)

I flew a few times to Tassie on East-West Airlines F27's.

It's funny how and a/c can bring back good memories.

I did Melbourne to Wynyard and return on a TAA F27 in 1979.

I was lucky enough to be in the cockpit for the landing at Wynyard.

The loss of F27 VH-TFB in 1960 lead to the introduction of FDR/CVR.
