Hello, everyone!
(I have been to the Mound before)
My friend is coming to Sydney from Melbourne. What would be the best way to get to the shep's mound without a rental car/taxi/uber?
Would it be going to Blue Emu Car Park bus then walking from there?
Thanks Yota

Correct!

Nigel,
There was a nice three car parking space up the top of the mound. Now there are "No Standing" signs there. Do you know why this has been done, as it was a nice spot to sit in
your car for a short period of time.

Darryl as per this thread (http://yssyforum.net/board/showthread.php?t=11522) the mound has been completely redone and is now a purpose built spotting area.

I don't know Darryl. I've only been to Shep's once since it opened and that was just for a quick look. I parked at the bottom and took no notice of what other signage was around.

Hi Darryl,

Unfortunately the up-the-top 'parking' area you refer to was never designated parking according to the plans, hence why there are no lines marked out for car spaces.

The No-Standing signs were always coming, though were delayed.

The space is "meant to be" a turn around area only.

Cheers.

Ok. Anyone know how often Jetgo comes to Sydney?

Rarely. They had one of their Embraers in yesterday, but it's not common.

They'll be starting daily flights from Wollongong on the 30th October, so if you're keen to see one, that'll be the easiest spot close to Sydney.

It wouldn't kill you to walk from the Domestic Terminal, Krispy Kreme or even the Mascot Shops.

Admittedly that is not as close as the Blue Emu / long-term car park option, however.

There's not much point attempting to approach the mound from the south without vehicular transport because you'd need to pass through that long tunnel beneath the taxiway.
