Would this be some sort of repositioning flight????

Was at FL410 when I spotted it and doing 522kts.

I think so, Nick. The aeroplane I brought into Sydney on Wed morning (QF6/VH-OJJ) turned around to operate the QF6008 to Brisbane at 0800LT. Unfortunately that meant deplaning at a cargo bay (#4).

FWIW, A332 VH-EBK was delivered to MEL from TLS as "Qantas 6008" on 6th/7th Aug.

Now that you mention it, Liam, it might well be have been QF6018 my aeroplane was going out as. Having been up all night when I received the ACARS arrival message, my numerical memory was a little frazzled! :o

The flight I saw was definately 6008 and was traveling inbound to MEL from the North West. Looks like a delivery flight.

Is there a Melbourne ACARS register such as the one on 16right.com?

I haven't come across one in my searching in the past.

The Sydney Airport Message Board isn't the only one in Australia - there are several others that provide all sorts of information for the enthusiast.

Seek and you shall find - at least six others that I'm aware of and which offer plenty of hard information for the number crunchers and historians amongst us.

At least one pre-dated this Board.
