looks like the next job will be taking a few Lion Air aircraft out of ASP in the next few days, they sent 6 there earlier this year.

Yeah, Steve posted on Twitter a few weeks ago asking for anyone who could assist in getting them from SYD to ASP cheaply. (Tweet since deleted)

Looks like the A320 plans were delayed, pilots coming into BNE tonight and presumably chattering out to ASP in the morning, ASP-BNE-HNL

Tristan S
18th December 2021, 03:40 PM
OMD550 and OMD549 due out of ASP at 1800 and 1815 respectively. Routing ASP BNE MAJ HNL and then I assume somewhere into the US

Does anyone happen to know what aircraft they are ferrying?

I believe they'er ferrying a pair of A320s, so BNE-HNL direct seems unlikely. Probably a stop in NAN, HIR or MAJ.

Tristan S
18th December 2021, 06:29 PM
Yes, definately 320s, FlightAware shows via MAJ to HNL

One of the pilots kept using #neo which confused me, and this was the shot in Asp https://twitter.com/CaptFWA/status/1472103587119607809 with the new regos, never mind, there are still ten odd to leave shortly.

From Airline Secrets

Lionair 737-800's heading to Miami. Bob, Aidan, Brian, and Steve from Nomadic Aviation Group are doing the ferrying of two planes as we speak. The routes are from Alice Springs in the Aussie desert (ASP) to BNE. Then on to Honiara, Hawaii, Phoenix, and then to Miami OPF. Both aircraft are approximately 6 years old and rumored to be going to a major airline

From Twitter.... 4 "Nomads" as Steve called them, are on route to ASP to pickup a pair of 737-800s (unsure which)
One of the Nomads is currently on QF10 to DRW, reportedly with a load of only 91 pax

Busy month for them, Steve’s already done two Atlantic ferries back to back with a mad deadhead journey in between. Interesting post about the former business partner who flew under the influence!
