BAe Avro RJ100 3354 VH-NJI Cobham Aviation Services last in svc 03jun22 ADL-PUG-YCPT-PUG-ADL (+ 3331 VH-NJY 02jun22 same route) ex G-BZAW

NJI should not be included as it has been flying other charters.

NJI is a freighter and is serial 3154.

NJP is 3354 and is most likely what they were referring to.

Q400's IYP and IYZ are now based in ADL to replace the RJ's.

Cobham retires final RJ

On 3 June, the end of an era was taking place at Cobham Aviation as the company retired its final RJ100, VH-NJY (E3331). With this, Cobham is ending a thirteen year relationship with operating BAe146/RJs, which started in March 2009. Since then the airline operated four BAe146-100s, three BAe146-200s, six BAe146-300s, one RJ70, two RJ85s and seven RJ100s.

The place of the BAe146/RJs is taken-over by the DHC-8-400, of which Cobham now has seven in service. It also operates six ERJ190s. Next to its passenger-flying business, Cobham is also offering airborne surveillance, search and rescue and (special) mission training.

E190s don’t cut it for the curfew though

E190 P2F? First I have heard of that.
As for the curfew, as long as they meet stage 4 requirements and freight ops they are good to operate.

Recently Embraer has launched a P2F version bases on the E190 & E195.

Irish lessor Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) has signed an agreement with Embraer for the lease of up to 10 E190 and E195 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) converted jets, becoming the launch customer.

For those already operating the E190/5 and have a freighter requirement then this might be a perfect fit to their operations

Incorrect re the curfew. The only freight aircraft permitted are BAe146 and DC-9, and the E190 is too heavy by half for the 34t carve out. Without changes to the legislation, the E190 P2F will not be permitted to operate during curfew.

The B737-300/400's of Qantas Freight and Toll routinely take off and land during the curfew period. There was a change to the rules early during curfew to allow this.

There has been no change to the rules. A time limited exemption was granted and after much lobbying might I add.

Which is a change, is it not?

Temporary but still a change.

To say that the 146 and DC-9 are the only aircraft permitted is also incorrect. Multiple turboprop aircraft are also permitted.

Fair enough, those are the only JET freighters.

And no, it is not a rule change, it’s a temporary exemption. The legislation has not been amended, the rules still apply to any other aircraft or operator.

A couple of B2s are again at Amberley

Four in fact

Some of the United States’ deadliest bombers have arrived at Amberley, just west of Brisbane, in a not-so-stealthy show of force to the Indo-Pacific.

At least four nuclear-capable B-2 stealth bombers flew almost 14,000 kilometres from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri to land at RAAF Base Amberley this week. https://www.smh.com.au/national/queensland/stealth-bombers-fly-into-brisbane-in-us-show-of-force-to-region-20220712-p5b0zb.html

Hey guys, VH-ACC (citation latitude) arrived into Bankstown yesterday and departed later that night bound for Brisbane. It parked at Navair’s apron area. The reason I bring this up is because I believe this is the first Latitude to come to Bankstown. I’m not sure either but this may be one of the first Australian registered latitudes too. I could be wrong, if I am please let me know :)

Twin Otter VH-EVQ left Cns this week for Kiribati and will be registered there.

And that USAF C37 that arrived into Amberley had Admiral John C. Aquilino onboard for the info-pacific chiefs of defence conference.
