Funny thing - I was in Port Moresby a couple of weeks ago and saw another Iceland Air 757 being operated by ANG.
Still had TF rego, etc.

I think that you will find that the 757 you saw was in fact TF-FII still operating occasionally for ANG.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks

Did some googling and found this.....

On December 2007 Air Niugini returned its leased Boeing 767 aircraft to its owners, Viva Macau.[10] The airline has taken up a lease with Icelandair for a Boeing 757-200 and expects to order its own Boeing 767-300ER aircraft from Royal Brunei Airlines.[11]

On the 18th of April, 2008, Flights commenced on the Sydney-Port Moresby route initially using leased Embraer 190 aircraft leased from SkyAirWorld of Australia.[12][13]

Seems as if Air Niugini has a leasing agreement with Icelandair.

Aircraft operates weekly to Brissie from POM and will be doing some SYD flights as Skyairworld E-190 appears to be doing POM-HIR-NAN now so 757 will replace it.Aircraft has been in service for over 6 monthes now.

Air Niugini have changed their schedules several times in past 6 monthes so anyones guess what will happen next.

I think you will find the 763 will operate as well into SYD.
