The eyes of the world will be on Beijing on August 8 at the 8:08 p.m. start of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. What better time for us to launch our new ads highlighting our international premium cabins?
Four 60-second commercials will air during the Olympics, as will two 30-second spots. Extending our highly successful "It's Time to Fly" campaign, the ads seek to establish an emotional connection with our frequent business travelers. We committed to the new ads two years ago to ensure that no other airline advertised nationally during the Games, and we paid for the majority of production last year.

The new ads position the international premium travel experience as the "best of the best" for premium customers. We have already begun to see significant shifts in market share, attracting new premium customers and achieving customer satisfaction improvements as a result of the new cabins.

In the next step of the rollout, the first reconfigured premium cabin to debut in the Pacific will take flight in mid-August.

Look to www.united.com/itstimetofly to view the spots. The commercials will air on board our aircraft during the month of September.

too bad the eyes of America had to wait 12hrs before NBC would actually show the opening ceremony... :p

Gershwin must be turning in his grave at the way UA have hacked his masterpiece!

I didnt see the opening ceremony yet either (its on Tivo) but thats the same as us flying The US team and a whole symphony orchestra to Beijing...we never get to see/meet any of them. The Only information we get is via the F/A's who bring us up meals. A couple of our crews got to go the the opening ceremony since they were on layover and the hotel had provided the tickets.

Funny you should mention Gershwin.. The orchestra is going to be playing the entire piece (without the commercials) at the concert in Beijing so I guess he can rest in piece given that the thing is still being played in total at many concerts...Its quite a long piece of music.
