In the interests of objectivity and fairness to other airlines, the following was reported on another board :
"Listening to scanner last night, EK421 after take off was unable to retract
under carriage, so dumped fuel and landed back at Perth.
Departed 10:47pm and landed Perth 00:09am, still at the terminal as of 3:38am
Aircraft was A6-ERB A345. "

I was also listening to the scanner and heard this unfold. Anybody have any updated information on this?

Departing

Perth International Airport (PER) 22:30 | Scheduled **00:00 | Estimated
From EK website, ** being 2 days later, so that would be a scheduled departure of midnight tonight. (ie Monday morning).

Was it an ex-Qantas plane or did it depart from a Qantas terminal?
(Just trying to establist a link of journalistic standards here ....)

Looking at ACARS, it would appear the a/c hasnt left Perth yet.
Anyone able to confirm?
EDIT: Looks like we have another revised departure time of 7AM tomorrow morning as EK421A.

EK412 doesn't even operate to Perth, Rhys.
EK421A leaves tomorrow morning.
