Today is that day and for all of us in the airline industry regardless of carrier affiliation when we remember our fellow crew members who lost their lives while just doing what we do every day. While I did'nt know any of the crews on either of our flights that went down that day, my wife's crash pad room mate in EWR Sandy Bradshaw was one of the FA's on flight 93 who today is being rembered along with our other employees. The crew's and passengers will be remembered today on every one of our flights with a special PA announcement prior to departure requesting a minute of silence for those who died. Many of us will wear the black ribbons on our uniforms today along with the "never forget" decals we carry on our flight bags every day.

Below is the message on our internal employee web site.

A Day of Remembrance for Our Company and Our Country

Dear fellow employees,

Today is a day of remembrance for the lives lost seven years ago, including the eighteen courageous and dedicated men and women of United.

Those of us who were at United on that day, and everyone who experienced the tragedy in different ways, continue our tradition of taking a moment to stop and honor families, friends, colleagues and all who lost their lives, and those who worked tirelessly to prevent further loss.

They will always be in spirit with our United family.

Pete

Let us remember too the fire fighters, police officers, and other emergency workers who also lost their lives just doing what they do every day.

Lest we forget.
