This was the company's latest announcement re the end of Ted.

As was announced in June, we will be eliminating our Ted product in order to place those 56 Airbus 320 aircraft on the most profitable routes in this challenging economic environment. The A320 reconfiguration work will occur in stages, with the exteriors being painted in the United mainline livery beginning this month, and interior work, including adding a United First cabin, taking place in the spring and continuing through 2009.
The exterior painting will be completed within the normal paint cycle for Ted aircraft, and the first eight planes are being painted this month. As a result, the interiors and exteriors of these aircraft will not match for a period of time, and this may lead to confusion for employees and customers, especially in cities served by both Ted and mainline. When serving customers and loading and unloading planes during the transition, be sure to check the flight number and destination or nose number rather than relying solely on visual identification to determine whether an aircraft is mainline or Ted
