It seems that the ex QantasLink/Eastern/Sunstate Dash-8s (VH-TQN,TQQ,TQT,TQV) have been sold to Kenya.
Does anyone know where they are going and new regos etc ?

Ahh, TQQ - the first and last Dash I operated at the Link :D The only difference was about 25000 hours in its MR. :)

Hi Greg,
Wasn't they sold to a South African Company? I believe they will be leased out?

VH-TQN,TQQ,TQT,TQV were all deleted from the Aust. Civil Register on 15-16/09/08 and shown exported to Kenya
They may well be leased out.

I bet Stan from Skippers is rather annoyed at the situation. I believe that he had put a bid in for 2 of them.

Annoyed that he didn't put a high enough bid on them perhaps?

Not entirely relevant to the thread but some might find interesting. Skippers newest Dash8-314 VH-XFZ is ex Lufthansa Regional (D-BACH) which was ex Qantaslink (VH-TQA). So after a few years having a European holiday she is back down under.

No more than smart actually, the Dash 8-100's were sold at an extreme high priced given its current valuation.......
Indeed, the aircraft are owned by a leasing company I believe

I thought there were 6 dash 8's and 2 went to skippers a few weeks ago from BNE???
The other 4 were here today however 5Y-VVN took off this am whilst we were waiting for the A380 .Sounded like a American pilot taking her home to Kenya.Aircraft all white.

Two of the Saabs that REX currently operate formerly operated with Kendell and Hazelton Airlines before been exported overseas in 2003 only to return to Australia in 2006. They are VH-ZLZ/ZRX and VH-KDR/ZLR.
