As of the 1st of December DJ PE guests will be getting food and drink and live2air as part fo the ticket price.
IMO should have been that way from the start.

That is good to hear. I think they should be able to pick up business with this.
So now for less than the QF fully flex fare, you can get a better seat, more legroom, more choice in catering, live TV and more than likely more FF points!

Will this arrangement also apply to high tier Velocity members? Like British Midland (sorry bmi) does.

I think it only applies to Premium Economy. Not the main cabin like BMI. Though I presume that is something they can look at down the track.

Just checked Virgin's website but nothing on it about everything is included when you book Premium Economy

Given Marty works for Virgin I presume it has been info released internally.

Feel free to call me a cynic, but how much will the PE fares be increased as a result?

I don't think they will increase. They need to make the product successful first. It won't cost them much to give some one a beer and a ceaser wrap.... I'd say they'd make more money form you if you had upgraded and paid the PE fare, than sat down the back and bought the beer and ceaser wrap seperately.

Correct :)
So does that mean you’re in breach of your confidentiality agreement?

Think that's the thing DJ must have been done on the day they introduced W.
Anyway, I sincerely hope DJ can introduce free unlimited drinks and 1 free meal on board plus extra legroom and TV for free to all Full Economy passengers, probably they can rebrand their Full Flexi and Corp Plus Fare to "Main Cabin Select", to compete with QANTAS.

Radi,
The reason I posted the information was from a marketing/promotion stand point people on this board fly, people on this board fly business/PE, people on this board have a number of times have stated that they werent satisfied they are getting value for dollar when flying PE with Virgin Blue.
I thought it was of value to people on this board to share the information, and maybe the information will make them think well maybe I will fly PE with Virgin Blue with these added extras Im now getting for my ticket price.
Cheers

all that is null and void if the information is not in the public domain.
the product is still undergoing refinements before the re-launch.
Velocity members and regular PE flyers will be notified, I'm certain of it!
Let's leave it at that.

Thanks for sharing this "gossip" for now! :D
But sounds like a very reasonable idea and one that will probably go ahead :p
