I thought the curfew was 5am. I know when my parents flew back from London on BA, they were scheduled to arrive at 5:10 I think, but because of strong tail winds had to fly almost to adelaide and then turn north again just to ensure they didn't land before 5am. In the end, touchdown was at 5:04am.

At this time of year, curfew is 2300-0600. Before at least 0530, the runway is most likely going to be in a reduced length configuration 7 days a week.

Well at a guess, given the Sydney Airport website lists CA15 as departing to Canberra at 22.00LT on Friday, one would surmise a Chinese Govt. flight.
So the real question is......the usual 744 or will we get real lucky and get the China United 767-300 that they have used in the past for official flights?
(and they park it on Bay99 or similar).
Trust the early birds at YSSY will let us all know what's what :)

Looks like it is due to land at 3:15 pm today. That is much better as I will be out there at 1pm.

The one you talked about Wayne, has rego of B-2499, the only CF6 powered B763 in Air China's fleet, rest all powered by PW. It was a regular visitor to SYD before CA switched A332 on AU route.

It is on the ground now in the GA area with lots of activity around it. The AC livery looks nice on the 767!
