What I do not understand is if a cabin crew member was to exceed her monthly operating hours she would have done this regardless of what time the return flight left.

If they had have sign off and commenced the rest period then the total duty time would have been the same. No?

And I am not sure that cabin crew flight and duty limits come under the Navigations Act! I thought there was no prescribed limits for flight attendants.

There are no CAO limitations for Flight Attendants

There may however be EBA limitations, which are just as restrictive and just as serious if exceeded...
