Hi Gerald,
Well it would be an An-12 or Il-76 if it's Volare from Ukraine....that'd be rather nice to see in Sydney.
Cheers

Just to add my bit; we did have a Vega Airlines AN-12 into Richmond back in Nov'06 (LZ-VEC), their code is VEA.

Further to my previous post, Flightstats.com shows flight VE2 due at 08:24 as per Gerald's post. Volare A/L LAX-SYD!

If it is an An-12, how long would LAX-SYD take? And why would it be doing that route anyway if its from Ukraine or wherever?
Perhaps, as Wayne said, might be the IL-76 picking up the stuff the DC-8 dropped off? Could that be a possiblilty just throwing it in the air?

It looks like the same phantom aircraft reporter as the An-30 has struck again...there was nothing fancy arriving at 0831 this morning.

I looked through the flight plan system whilst on night shift last night using various combinations and couldn't find anything.

Sing it Deano......
"Volare, oh, oh!
Cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh!
Let's fly way up in the clouds
Away from the maddening crowds
We can sing in the glow of a star that I know of
Where lovers enjoy peace of mind
Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind
Just like birds of a feather, a rainbow together we'll find"

I spoke to the apron coordinator, and they had no knowledge of it at all, be it for today or tomorrow.
Mind you, this is not the first time there has been phantom aircraft...

Hi Gerald,
I'll have another look tonite.
Though as Nigel said, if the apron coordinators don't have anything scheduled its not coming to Sydney at this stage.

I've had a look at the arrivals for this morning, and the QF74 (VH-OEB) and UA839 (N180UA) are the closest LAX arrivals at 0805 followed by QF12 (VH-OJB) at 0815.
It looks like there's a phantom in the system.
EDIT: Again, this was a no-show.

Pure guess but nothing to do with the V Oz flights that were supposed to start Dec 15?
