Anyone know if they still spray bug spray down the aisles of flights from (I think) Hawaii only?

I'm very sure they used to or is this a thing of the past

Not sure about Hawaii, but aircraft are now regulally disinsected so that they don't have to spray the stuff around with passengers as much... it does sometimes still happen though!

On my flight back from Hawaii in April last year on QF, they didn't do any spraying of the cabin.

They still spray freighters that come into the country. AQIS would collect cans from flight crews upon arrivals.

I have seen some of the spay cans come off some flights from china too.

My Dad flew in from Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines late October 08 and they sprayed the plane. Delayed taxi to the gate because they were late spraying.

anyone know what the deciding factor is in whether or not a flight is sprayed?

It depends on whether the aircraft has had residual treatment or not

on my flight down from HK on CX this morning, I was at the L1 door when opened by the crew at YSSY (benefit of being in the 1st row of business - upgraded at gate)

anyway, at door was an AQIS official who collected 3 cans of empty spray from the crew along with the paperwork
