These are the stories we regret in this industry:(

"EMERGENCY services have been alerted after a light plane ditched in the ocean after issuing a distress call.

The mayday was received from an aircraft over Brampton Island off Mackay at 2.15pm.

An RACQ CQ rescue helicopter spokeswoman said the aircraft - carrying a pilot and four passengers - was believed to have ditched into the water 100m from the island"

A successful ditching...well done to all, shame about the aircraft.

I heard that the rescue chopper was on a training flight in the area. Nice peice of luck there, and from the sounds of it, and some good flying as well.

Very well done by Kate the pilot.

Have been up here on the island for the last week or so. Actually flew over from Mackay on the very aircraft that ditched only a few days before.

Was very fortunate the chopper was in the area. Had a ringside seat and well done to all.

Regards.

Shouldn't you be going on holidays to get away from that sort of thing, Paul?;)
