Were just about all delayed.

Is anyone able to tell me what happened? From what i can tell, an A332 (most likely -EBJ) was taken out of service, causing delays throughout the day - 481 to perth was subbed to B763, with PAX offloaded to a later flight, delayed from 2000 to 2220.

thanks

It appears EBJ was taken out of service due to a "steering problem" which cause the knock-on delays (for example to rebook all the pax on that flight).

Article here (http://www.theage.com.au/travel/qantas-delays-flight-for-10-hours-20090119-7k6p.html)

I guess this must give QF a bit of a headache as it must be very difficult to reaccomodate up to 299 pax considering a) most flights are pretty full and b) an B763 can only accomodate up to 254 pax even if there is a 'spare' lying around.

Now if only QF has not fully retired the B743s.....hmmmmm... :p

Thankyou Ricky for the information - we were told that 30 people needed to rebook when QF phoned us on Sunday.

And Montague - That domestic terminal can get hot enough WITH the air conditioning, let alone without! Painful stuff!
