I was only spotting for about 40mins before work but it was the greatest 40min block of my life. Great to see some exciting stuff in Sydney!

Where was that Philippine 747 photo shot from?
Perhaps it is just the framing and perspective, but I just can't see it, and it looks like a great spot.

I believe that the spot was on top of the bridge in between the Virgin Blue and Qantas departures terminals right in front of the Dash 8's. He had to go to work in T3 yesterday so spotted before that.
Tim, please correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah if you walk West from T2 up top, you get to a little staircase which gives you a pretty good view for 16R arrivals.

Personally I love my 50-500mm because it gives the focal length required from any place in Sydney. The 100-400L is obviously alot better quality but at the Mound in the morning, you cannot full frame most aircraft which taxi along Charlie(The nearest taxiway). Hope this helps.

Tim are you using the Sigma 50-500mm lens? Also would anyone have any info on the PR 744's why they were here and will they return? :)

This is a little confusing with Stefan's post saying the flight was a 333? Was it actually a 333 or 744?

My information source has now changed, so I'm inclined to believe it's the A333 as per Stefan's post.

Thats correct PR 209 at YMML today was operated by an A330-300. It also seems that the 744 operates every second day or close to that
