shadow at brisbane airport on google earth

howdy all...

seen this google earth image ?

any idea on where this aircraft is that the shadow belongs to ?
shadow rego would be good also :)

is there a plane that has taken off on 19 that we can't see in the image ?
there is an aircraft on finals to 19 , but there is no way that it's shadow can be at the other end of the runway...

check out google earth to see...
just trying to answer an arguement between friends as to where the aircraft is..

On the Sydney Airport Google image, HS-TGT appears twice in the one frame, once on bay, and the other one at the 34L threshold.

Probably a similar explaination for this one. The aircraft has just got airborne and is over the runway creating a sharp shadow image, however when the next image was taken, they've used this one with no aircraft in it for the runway part (or vice versa) and left the shadow image in the adjoining frame.

The aircraft looks like a B737 and if you measure the length of the shadow and the length of the Virgin Blue B737 taxiing closer to the terminal, they are just about the same length. This would suggest that the aircraft is close to the ground, probably just lifted off. The shadow being to the east of the runway is consistent with the shadow cast from the oil tanks to the west of the runway, confirming that the aircraft would have been aligned with the runway at the time.

Nigel's ocmments about the sequence of image passes will be the answer for sure, one pass caught the shadow and the other missed the aircraft.
