QF6013 operated by VH-OJP into SYD and QF6019 operated by VH-OEF into MEL

Do Qantas normally run their aircraft around like this? Or is this some sort of one-off??

Well OEF would be repositioning to MEL to operate QF93 to LAX today. They always swap the aircraft like this after the A380 ops

..... and now QF6018 (VH-OJB) and QF6014 (VH-OQC).

Isn't this alot of reshuffling just to fit in the A380? That's 4 ferry flights just today. Would they be doing this if oil was still $145 a barrel?

QF6015 (VH-OJK) now ferrying from SYD-MEL.

Never seen so much running around before. That's alot of extra fuel being burned and extra pay for staff.

Its a wonder that QANTAS don't rotate the A380 and B744 flights in LAX so that the QF93 from MEL turns around as the QF12 to SYD and vice versa on other days. This would at least reduce the number of positional flights between SYD & MEL vv.
