It flew out around 1PM today. We're up frm Canberra to see famil, and went to Fighter World as the weather is U/S here today. Got there just in time to go up to the obs deck and get some photos of it taking off! No idea of rego though, but the voices on the radio sounded very Aussie.

UR-82072 has come up on the Gold Coast radar. Callsign "ADB138F".

Thanks for the info Tim. If anyone had any confirmation of if its coming to Willy it would be good. Considering i'm an hour north away at the moment i'd probably head out and see it. They did tow a hornet over to the commerical apron or whatever the non-military side is the other day and were playing around with it and taking tows and equipment over, but that could just be a coincidence.

They would have been towing it over to the Bae hanger which is on the civy side ;)

Here's mine... Got there JUST after she parked. Whilst walking over to the fence from the 'Silver Parking' area, she made an all might noise and opend the front cargo door. Then, she 'knelt down' and the ramp folded out...
Really hard conditions, hazy and still really windy as well! I originally parked in the Silver Carpark, but then moved (after paying $2.50) into the Rental Carpark to get some additional shots right next to the fence. Unfortunately, stairs, etc were right in front of me (I was in the only vacant spot along the fence line) and even though I opened my tailgate door and stood in the back, having a 4wd does have its advantages at times... :D

Now I just need to work out HOW to fix the merge area and blend it together!

So Tim, I think we all get the message that you work airside at Williamtown already mate.
That said, nice photo.... but.... I totally agree with Mr Brown's comment re the levelling. Bring it back to the left a bit so that I don't feel like the AN124 is going to slide out the right hand side of my monitor!

We better call all those other people who took pictures of it while boarding the Virgin Blue and any other flight today that they are in breach of taking a photo.
Oh and all the people who have taken photos of the airport in the past.

Hahaha Michael, you're kidding right?
Funniest thing I've heard this side of Michael Jackson's death...
Please tell me you're familiar with Nigel C's employment?
That being said, short of Tim being given approval by Ms Jarrett, he is unfortuntately or otherwise in breach of Newcastle Airport Limiteds' filming/photography policies.

Understand you're happy about your job, not that you've divulged what that new job is beyond constant mention of the words "airside" and "ramp", however there are many other airport workers here who go about their posting in a more discreet fashion.
Perhaps a youtube video like this one (it's pretty funny!) would help us understand what it is you're doing up at Willy

I'm off to work, and just to clarify...... I don't work airside :D
