I was thinking it would be nice to see everyone post their favourite/best image that they captured at the spotting weekend. It can be anything aviation related. I'll kick it off with a night shot of the A380 VH-QPA taken on the Friday night, 1/4sec handheld.

NickN

We had to pass airport screening so sneaking a camera in wasn't an option.

whoa Phil your right!!!! The after affects of beer!!! D'oh!!!

Mike, was a combination of a good lens and some crafty post-processing. Taken at ISO400.

I'll throw up a copy of the RAW image when I get home.

Nick

The A380 photo at the start of this thread is OQB. OQA was in hanger and my photo taken on Friday Night shows it as OQB.This was the flight that was late in departing.

Hey Matt, Forwoods mug was the best shot you could come up with? Sorta looks like a 747 head on doesn't he? :D:D

Guys, can we take the inside joke elsewhere please? It was mildly amusing, once..... I hear Facebook needs a group dedicated to ULD Serial # Enthusiasts.

Sorry guys, I call "Time" on this one.

Hear hear...!

Meanwhile, back on the subject of photos from the weekend, here's a selection of my daughter Brianna's work...

Rumour has it this...ummm...joker, dropped his bike in the sand as he arrived earlier that morning...
We waited but he managed to keep it upright as he left!

The A-Team...and Craig...and Ray!

Bloody Craig again...

Have you washed your hands David? Gotta keep an eye on these biscuit bitches you know...

Granny keeps a stiff upper lip despite having an obvious case of lens envy!
At least your lens is a Canon Granny..it's not the size, it's how you use it mate!

Brianna got a very historic photo there Andrew - one of the last ever taken of that particular helmet. It died a horrible death later that evening... http://www.augk18.dsl.pipex.com/Smileys/dontgetit.gif

Raymond Rowe

So how come the owner survived.

Nigel C
13th February 2009, 02:49 PM
Cos he was wearing a helmet?

Maybe the steak hit the floor before he did?

Adam P.
13th February 2009, 03:28 PM
Because the owner wasn't anywhere near the bike or helmet at the time. I didn't think that Mascot was such a bad spot to leave it. Seems I was wrong.

And would you lot get over the steak thing already??? Even Brianna was giving me curry for that! Nothing was spilled this time around.

Nigel C
13th February 2009, 03:49 PM
I need one more incident free outing at the Rowers or DoG to convince me you've improved your form.......

BTW, I see Brianna has some new shots at JP, well done. But is the the REAL Brianna McLaughlin?!

Ok, back to the cricket here!

Danielle is loving taking photos, the second last spotting weekend she started to steal the camera and take more photos then us. Danielle has some up on jet photos but not many.

Good to see the kids getting in on the action, I hope Danielle takes after our hobbie and enjoys it when she gets older.

good photos everyone.

Flushy I see some nervousness in your expression there, as if you were afraid of heights or something  :D

Nigel C
13th February 2009, 10:16 PM
IIRC, there was a story going around that just before you guys had that photo taken, there were a bunch of ***holes turned up at the same location for the same type of photo. And that someone ended up with a cracked lens?

Any truth to the story?

Ian Knight
13th February 2009, 10:45 PM
Completely untrue.....

It happened after...

Nigel C
14th February 2009, 08:46 AM
:o My mistake. It was a bunch of quiet, well behaved guys who told me at about 0145 in the morning from the other side of some chain wire fence near a sugar factory...

I'm guessing Shep's Hill looking towards the QF domestic.

Nigel C
18th February 2009, 07:56 PM
Nope. It's west of the entrance to Dom-1 apron, and I'd guess somewhere near the roads leading into the International Terminal.

Alrighty then...near the container park...?
And just remember, I've spent far less time on the outside of the fence than inside, so my geography out there is ordinary to say the least!

Stephen Brown

You've already had guess, you're out!

Nathan is excluded because he took the photo....

Andrew McLaughlin
