Don't know if it has anything to do with it but I know that ADL-OOL-ADL has been reduced from a B737 to an E190. Also ADL-HBA-ADL will cease operations. All MEL-ADL-MEL flights will be operated by E190's except for 6 flights (3 each way) which will be operated any 737's.

Its a shame they withdraw from HBA-ADL. I thought the E190 would be the right capacity for that market. With Tiger on the prowl on this route Virgin may have been seen as not be able to match them. And so bow out gracefully.

SYD-LST flights also seem to have been canned. This is not good news for northern Tasmania, but will undoubtedly be great for JQ's direct daily service between the two cities.

Hopefully the BNE-LST flights are also reinstated next summer. Tasmania has lost out big-time with these changes. No early morning HBA-SYD flight and ceasing SYD-LST and ADL-HBA.

The Virgin Blue website is now showing daily direct flights between Sydney and Launceston again all through winter. It appears the service stays.
