On now, Channel 7.

Doco concerning the QF 707 that was brought 'home' from England in recent years and now based at Longreach.

How is the 707 going at Longreach anyway? Anyone been to see it recently?

I was there last year but I doubt anything has changed. There was talk of flying it again for airshows etc but nothing has happened since.

Now that would be a worthwhile thing to see. Miss the days of the 707 flying around!
BTW theres been a bit of activity around the retired 707s at Richmond lately, are these still going to Omega or would they just be removing the bits that are salvageable?

Omega apparently still will be moving them, when they can.
I gather Richmondtown is ready to go now....

I guess the time will show when they place USA tail regos on them?

Not sure if there are US regos on them yet but it seems as though they have taken off the blue plastic or coverings that were over the engines on at least the closest one to the fire station anyway.
Maybe they are in the final stages of getting them off to the US. Its been nearly a year hasn't it since they were retired?
I'm really hoping that someone is going to be able to tell when they are heading off so that i can get out there and see it leave, will be the last time we see a 707 apart from John Travolta?

Anyone with some insider info they're not telling us about? ;)

Boeing 755 i think was the callsign was doing engine run ups on the eastern apron yesterday. The 7 Oh with the blue tail.

From the work i've seen them doing round it and from what you said Andrew, it looks like at least one of them might be on its way soon..:(
