Thats amazing! And Airbus whinge about how long an A380 takes, although its much bigger than a 737, that only took 2 minutes and 21 seconds to build, test and paint.

I remember watching one on Flight Level 350.com but i couldn't find it so i found it on Youtube

Apart from the fact that the focus aircraft is an -800 until it's towed into the paint shop it's OK.

Anyone else notice the QF aircraft passing by the office?

That ones great Tim, looks sort of comical when you speed it up like that! Reminds me of the old Goodies TV show when they speed up the film for comic effect.

That second one is awesome too. Amazing how fast the planes go when taking off/landing!

Also amazing to see how much activity their really is at an airport. Such a big operation to be run!

Thanks NickN for the post. Always fascinating to watch these amazing aircraft being transformed right before your eyes quick-fast!
Gotta say, it must be awesome working in one of those offices inside the factory, have a look out your window and see a new aircraft being put together every single day!

Also, thanks Tim for the airport time-lapse. Although all of us here have done a number of flights, I bet none of us have actually just sat in one place for hours fascinated and interested in everything that goes on. I spent about 7 hours wondering around HNL and was great seeing planes come and go, but nothing like this clip!

Just a question regarding the Southwest Illinois One video, when they actually painted that special livery, from the looks of it, it seems like they simply put layers of tape on as 'drawing lines' and then painting between the lines... was this the case, or was there some high-tech process using CAD-like programs which know where to paint millimetre by millimetre..?

Here's another great time-lapse, this time showing the first 777-200LR for Delta Airlines taking shape from start to finish to test-flight. (Click Here) (http://youtube.com/watch?v=fNS0w_wBFr8)

Also, another time-lapse showcasing the various stages required in creating the gorgeous Airbus A340-600. (Click Here) (http://youtube.com/watch?v=6HTtkgiw9pI)

This one is tops. Citation lands downwind () then overshoots the runway, lands in the water, engines still running. Long clip but fascinating!

Just in relation to the Illinois one livery a/c video. The first half of that video is NOT the aircraft in question. The type is incorrect as is the line number for the fuselage. This is the standard video now for any special paint scheme video and the second half only is of that plane.
A friend of mine just happened to be at BFI when it was test flown at 2200 (WAY LATER THAN NORMAL). He was on his laptop totally unaware of the special scheme when the controller came across his scanner and said "That is the most awesome livery we've ever seen come out of the paintshop here". He grabbed his camera, ramped up the ISO and shot the shots you originally saw on the net. The next day with Southwests secret livery out in the open more or less, WN revised the flt schedule and it was flown pre-sunrise out to Moses Lake where you could pretty much hide anything if you wanted to! They did NOT want anyone shooting that plane before the launch at MDW. :(
