Hello All,

Im going to YSSY this weekend with a few friends and looking to get some good shots,

Probably from about 12pm onwards. Just wondering anything that stands out, and where the best places are.

Sheps, beach etc

Thankyou all

The other complication is that 25 could be in use (as it is at present), given the westerlies, in which case Barton Park would be good for takeoffs.

I wonder if they send the A380 off on 25 - that would be a sight to see. I noticed a couple of 744s earlier - just like the banner on a certain airliner photos website!

I overheard the refuellers talking about an A380 going off RWY25 this morning, though I don't know which one it was (we face the other direction here)...

I'd say it's the EK one, SQ has been it's usual boring self this morning, besides the fact it was late and Asiana took it's usual bay! Must be fun bussing an A380 load of pax from the remote bays...

yup A6-EDE went off on 25 this morning, up before the intersection of 34.

in fact nose wheel well up before the prior taxiway.....awesome sight.

BA T7 also did it later in the arvo

How does one get from the Domestic terminal to the International terminal?
I will be flying into Sydney this week domestically, with no international connection, however I would like to make use of the observation deck there.

Other then the train, is there a 'free' shuttle service between the two main terminals?

Pretty sure its not possible to get to International for free, it should be!. There is a Tbus which is $5.50~ each way which runs from outside arrivals hall in T2 and stops outside Departures level on the International upper level, and I think cityrail have something similar..

Only takes 10mins.

The Long Term Carpark shuttle bus used to be 'free' before they opened a long term carpark at the international terminal.

Try the 400 bus, its operated by Sydney Buses, a lot cheaper than the TBus and the train.

Could always walk around - I see many a backpacker doing it and the views are pretty good. Down around past the jetbase, past the 16R threshold, past cargo and up the departure area ramp.

Virgin Terminal - sun right behind you, they clean the windows twice a day, you can grab a coffee and all those cute Virgin girls

Yes and no. The glass in those terminals can make the photos look really bad. If you have a ladder, park at the GA and walk up Ross Smith Ave to whereever you like the photos you are taking. If you go up near the big billboard but to the north and you can look streight down the runway (if your short like me, you may need a ladder to get over the blast fence).

It's not going to be heavy winds on Sunday (like yesterday) unfortunately, so 25 may be off the cards except for early morning departures.

Not to keen on shooting through glass. Sorry but what is the GA?

GA-General Aviation.

Depending on where your coming from Dale- head towards the Krispy Kreme/Macdonalds if you are familiar with it and follow the road down ross smith avenue as if you would go towards the control tower where mound is.

There is a small parking area right near end of runway 25 and you will notice if 25 is in use (which it isnt at the moment) the planes flying right over the highway. You can park here which looks out onto the General Aviation parking bay and some great action to be seen, as Tim says with a ladder or even just perched near the billboard.

Best of luck!
