I nipped out to Richmond this morning to see if there was any action, but from 10am to around 11.30am there was not a single movement (there were plenty of Hercules on the ground). So I headed back to Bankstown to see what was going on out there.

Eurocopter MBB-BK 117 C-2 VH-WKC departed for a short flight and returned to the Australian Aerospace hanger (an EADS company) . This helicopter is registered to Helicopters (Australia) in Belmont WA and is a very nice looking machine.

Another unusual movement around 1400 was Mooney M20J N210CM (1977) departing on Runway 11L and tracking out via Camden. I have not seen the aircraft at Bankstown before, even though it is registered to a private owner in Sydney. The pilot had a strong American accent and seem unfamiliar with Bankstown departure procedures.

Departing from 11C at 1413 was SA227-AC VH-OZN operated by Avtex Air Services.

The training circuit was full and there were up to seven aircraft in the queue for a Runway 11L departure (also a few Runway 11C departures). The tower was very busy, and at one point requested, "Gentlemen, please do not cut in before the aircraft has replied to the towers instruction". Another long radio call from 2RN resulted in a go around for one aircraft on late final, with no "clear to land" from the tower to be heard.

ATIS information India was 15kts from 190 with a 15kts of crosswind, so it was interesting to watch the crosswind touchdowns on 11R.
