Just noticed on PP another C-17 in the Sydney area. RCH285 04-4130 in the Sydney area. Not sure whether its heading SYD or RIC or an overfly, currently at FL340
Most likely an overfly. C-17 is from McGuire AFB
Anyone with any more info would be appreciated.
Cheers

Appearing on balus.info and PP was Spar31 an all white USAF Gulf 5, 01-0029 (http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/2/8/1/1300182.jpg) landed at Brisbane at about 2:30. However on the radio it was using Spar34. Parked at the GA.

I think Kingsford smith as 6E1 and Reach285 were on the melbourne centre frequency at the same time and i haven't heard it on 135.9 yet whilst the other has landed richmond.

Nice photos yet again andrew. Anyone know what the scratch marks would be from on the tail? Flying through fine debris of some sort maybe?

Unless it was a different aircraft, I saw it about 7:30 over Burwood and Concord heading in a north west direction. Nice and low too :)

Awesome photos. Thanks for sharing. I was lucky enough to taxi past a C-17 at Sydney last month, awesome to get close to.

Wow, you'd think they'd use one of their many corporate aircraft to shuttle people around for what appears to have been a business trip instead of a C-17. Not exactly a luxurious flight? Wonder what the in flight movie would have been?
Great photos Andrew.
