Emirates' new flight that is due to start up on December 1st (Dubai-Sydney) has been changed from an A340-500 to a 777-200LR. Flight numbers are EK414/EK415.

Err....we only see the A380-800 and B777-300ER here now....not the A340-500.

Nice to see more -200LR's coming.

What does that make it now? Air Canada, Delta, Emirates..... any others I missed?

I'd rather see the Thai A346 over an Emirates A345 any day.

Not to mention the -200LR NG sibling, the -300ER. Emirates, Austral, Canada sometimes, V Aus... again, others? Air NZ in the future?

At least these airlines have been smart enough to grab these awesome craft even if Qantas aren't. :D

I think Qantas could have capitalized on owning 777's. The only reason I could see for them not buying any is that the regional routes are comfortably served by the
A330 and the 777 may be overkill as the legs aren't long enough and perhaps the capacity isn't there.

Personally it would be great to see a 777 in QF livery.

I meant that now the original A340 has been replaced by the A380, the A340 will not return at all. I was looking forward to seeing all 3 serving Sydney
